STRING integration

Map genes to proteins, get protein-protein interaction networks and partners, and run functional and interaction enrichment with the public STRING database (version 12.5). No key or sign-up needed. Read-only.

Build it by describing it

Type a sentence like this and the copilot builds, validates and simulates the workflow.
Every morning, read yesterday's new leads from my form, and for each one “Map Identifiers to STRING IDs” in STRING.
  • Simulated before it goes live
  • Fixes proposed when something breaks
  • One credit per run

Actions

Then Calibra can do this for you
  • DO
    Map Identifiers to STRING IDs

Converts gene names or protein IDs (for example TP53, BRCA1 or UniProt accessions) into STRING identifiers, with the preferred name and a short annotation. STRING recommends doing this first.

  • DO
    Get Interaction Network

Gets the known and predicted interactions among a set of proteins, with the combined score and the evidence scores (experiments, databases, text mining, co-expression…).

  • DO
    Get Interaction Partners

Lists the proteins that interact with each of your proteins, most confident first, with the combined and evidence scores.

  • DO
    Functional Enrichment

Finds the Gene Ontology terms, pathways (KEGG, Reactome) and other annotations that are over-represented in your list of genes or proteins, with p-values and FDR.

  • DO
    Interaction Enrichment (PPI)

Tests whether your proteins have more interactions among themselves than expected for a random set of the same size, which suggests they are biologically connected.

  • DO
    Get Functional Annotations

Lists all the annotations (Gene Ontology terms, pathways, domains…) that STRING has for your proteins, without any statistics.

  • DO
    Custom STRING API Request (read-only)

Makes a GET request to any STRING API method, for example /json/version or /json/homology?identifiers=TP53&species=9606. The caller identity is added automatically. STRING asks for one request at a time with a one-second pause between calls. Only read requests (GET) are allowed.

Questions

Is the STRING integration free?

Yes. STRING is available on every Calibra plan, including the free plan, which needs no card.

How is STRING usage billed?

Calibra charges one credit per workflow run, however many steps it has. Steps that read from or write to this app do not cost extra.

Can I connect STRING without writing code?

Yes. Describe the process in plain words and the AI copilot builds the workflow with STRING for you. You can also use templates or the visual editor.

Describe your first process. Watch it run today.

Free plan, no card. One credit per run, however many steps it has.
